    About Us: Our client a leader in the real estate industry, is seeking talented individuals to join the team as a Senior Accountant. If you're passionate about finance and have a solid background in property accounting, we want to hear from you

    • Job Title: Sr. Accountant
    • Location: The Bronx, NY
    • Industry: Real Estate
    • Salary: $107,000 - $132,000 (with discretionary bonus)
    • Schedule: 9AM to 6PM (1-hour lunch break)

    Property Accounting Level:

    • Manage financial aspects of assigned properties
    • Prepare cash reports and forecasts
    • Create yearly budgets and upload them onto the Yardi system
    • Coordinate with external accountants for tax return preparation and audits
    • Ensure compliance with loan agreements and financial reporting requirements
    • Handle monthly and quarterly financial reporting for banks
    • Prepare annual state and local reports
    • Review and reconcile accounts including AR, AP, and equity
    • Maintain fixed asset schedules
    • Review bank reconciliations and Accounts Payable invoices
    • Address collection issues with Property Manager
    • Review billing statements and variance reports
    • Calculate CAM and real estate tax escalation billings
    • Review leases and updates in Yardi

    Accounting Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all aspects of accounting functions
    • Manage preparation of financial statements
    • Maintain General Ledger and balance sheet work papers
    • Coordinate revenue enhancement and expense reduction opportunities
    • Interpret lease clauses and reporting requirements
    • Interface with auditors and banking staff
    • Cross train junior staff
    • Assist with tax return finalization and distribution
    • Prepare cash flow projections and budgets
    • Conduct financial modeling and interpretation
    • Handle special projects as needed
    • Assist in maintaining departmental policies and procedures

    Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
    • 7+ years of Property Accounting experience
    • 3+ years of CAM and Lease Analysis experience
    • Experience with Yardi Voyager preferred
    • CPA certification is a plus
    • Public Accounting background preferred
