    Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Quality Inspector1 or Quality Inspector 2 to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Dayton, Ohio .

    Our team is responsible for various quality inspection responsibilities including receiving supplied material/parts, in-process inspection of product, and final acceptance product. The Quality Assurance Inspector will also be responsible for reviewing completed work instructions for errors, lot traceability, and record retention.

    Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

    • Receiving Inspection of materials and services; involving physical inspection and review of vendor certifications
    • Inspection of internally manufactured parts and final assemblies throughout all stages of production; including machining and testing.
    • Responsible for inspection of product in accordance with drawings, work instructions, quality acceptance procedures, and retention of acceptance documentation/ records.
    • Additional responsibilities will include calibration of tooling, gaging, and other equipment on-site or by coordination with outside suppliers.
    • Inspection will encompass a variety of techniques; e.g., visual inspection, conventional metrology (height gages, gage pins, thread gages, and dial indicators), calipers, micrometers, functional gages, Coordinate Measurement Machines, and Laser Tracking.

    One of the great things about our team is our schedule flexibility. Half of our team works a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, and the other half of our team works a 4/10 schedule with every Friday off. Team members need to be on-site, but start and end times can vary to accommodate commuting needs. On occasion you may be asked to work second shift to meet customer delivery dates. We try to work as a team to accommodate those rare business needs. This role may require an individual to stand for long periods of time.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ years additional education and/or related experience.
    • Experience interpreting drawings
    • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance within a reasonable time frame.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in an Aerospace or Composite Materials manufacturing environment
    • Experience with Polyworks software (used in CMM and Laser Tracking inspection equipment)
    • Experience with Quality Management Systems e.g. AS9100

    Salary Range: $44,200 - $73,600

    Salary Range 2: $52,500 - $87,500

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

    Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
