Luminous Electric is looking for a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. We are locally owned and operated, serving the Twin Cities for over 15 years. At Luminous Electric, our focus is clarity and quality in every job—delivering safe, reliable, and professional electrical solutions for homeowners, contractors, and commercial clients. Electrical work includes a mix of home services along with residential remodeling and new construction as well as some light commercial.

The ideal candidate shares our core values: Pride in the work, reliability, integrity, problem-solving with skill, and balancing hard work with life outside the job. You will report to the owner/Master Electrician and play a key role in delivering work our customers can see, understand, and trust.

Job responsibilities:

• Install and maintain electrical wiring, control, and lighting systems with attention to quality and code compliance
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and replace electrical components and equipment such as wiring, fixtures, insulated cables, transformers, and circuit breakers
• Perform general electrical maintenance and corrective/preventive maintenance on electrical systems, electrical panels, and circuits
• Inspect, test, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical system issues, safety hazards, and malfunctions
• Project management with oversight and direction of Apprentice Electrician(s)
• Follow the National Electrical Code, state and local building regulations, and safety procedures for every job
• Maintain accurate logs of billable hours and project details using our electrical contractor app
• Communicate clearly with customers, team members, and leadership about project status, challenges, and solutions
• Approach every job with pride, focus, and a mindset of delivering clarity and quality for our customers

Qualifications and skills:

• Minnesota Journeyman Electrician license
• 5+ years of electrical experience, including leading jobs
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Good understanding of electrical theory
• Able to read and understand electrical drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Able to lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Able to sit, stand, kneel, climb, lift, and climb stairs and ladders
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Can work independently and collaboratively with the team
• Positive attitude and commitment to the core values of Luminous Electric

Working hours:

• Full-time, year-round
• Mon–Fri, 9:00am–5:00pm
• Work location: In-person, jobs located throughout the Twin Cities
• Overtime occasionally available but not required

Compensation and benefits:

• $40-$45/hour, depending on experience
