    SummaryAs a member of the process engineering team, this role is responsible for the functionality of manufacturing equipment and processes as well as the development and implementation of innovative solutions to improve quality and productivity at our Millbury facility.

    The position involves frequent interaction with the R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to interpret and ensure customer requirements as well as all regulatory requirements are met.


    Key ResponsibilitiesSupport manufacturing and facility maintenance including:

    Working directly with the manufacturing team to support existing equipmentDesigning, reviewing and approving manufacturing processesModifying equipment and processes to accommodate new products and improve safety, consistency and yield Participating in development of new equipment specifications and procurementOverseeing maintenance of equipment (tenter frames, tower coaters, IR and natural gas ovens) and general facilities and ensuring proper preventative maintenance procedures are established and performedGenerating working mechanical and electrical drawings with part specificationsMaintenance and expansion of contractor relationshipsProviding operator training and hands on/standby support as neededProvide support for multiple prepreg manufacturing lines focusing on:Daily process monitoring and maintenance of processing parameters Achieving lot to lot consistencyIdentifying and implementing opportunities for change-over time reduction Creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures Capital budget and equipment project planning and timelinesWork with EH&S to ensure compliance with federal, state and local environmental, health, and safety regulatory requirementsCollaborate with R&D to create sustainable processes to fulfill customer's product needs.

    Work with Quality on Document Control and Contract Review to ensure proper setup and utilization of equipment and processesPerform ergonomic and hazard review on equipmentAssist facility in establishing lean manufacturing principles and practicesOther duties as assignedKey Qualifications/Requirements:

    Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering 5+ years' manufacturing experience; experience with composite prepreg is an assetProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools and Solid WorksExperience and strong aptitude working in an ERP or other related systemExcellent oral and written communication skill.

    Proven ability to work as a team member or independently and to manage time effectivelyStrong project management skills and knowledge of applicable toolsLean Manufacturing/Six Sigma KnowledgeWorking ConditionsThis role works on a daily basis in both our office and manufacturing plant environments and requires a high degree of interaction with all aspects of the business.

    Flexibility to work "off-hours" and to travel to other plant locations, to suppliers, customers and equipment vendors may be required.
