- Respiratory Therapist License issued by the State of Alabama
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) & Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certifications
- Under the direction of Physicians and and Respiratory Director, perform all respiratory procedures in accordance with NBRC, State Regulations, and departmental policies.
- Recommend and implement appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities.
- Provides respiratory care to patients in acute, chronic, and emergency situations. Manages mechanical ventilation and artificial airways in critical and general care areas.
- Collects and analyzes arterial blood gases as well as administers aerosolized medications and other respiratory treatments.
- Initiates, monitors and manages patient's oxygen through various devices including high flow nasal cannula and non-invasive positive pressure ventilation.
- Document patient care records in accordance with outlined policies and procedures.
