    **Description**

    **MAIN FUNCTION:** The Ultrasound Supervisor is responsible for day to day operations of the US department and for supervising the Ultrasound staff and for evaluating technologist performance. The individual helps to oversee the clinical competency of the staff at multiple imaging locations including the main Hospital, Ivy Brook Diagnostic Imaging Center, the Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness and Quarry Walk Diagnostic Imaging Center. The US Supervisor works with off-site supervisors to provide staff to those facilities. The individual is responsible for the Ultrasound Departments quality control, quality assurance, and ACR accreditation program at the main Hospital and at off-campus locations. This individual is responsible for the US physics program at the Hospital and off-site locations with the Department Director. In addition, the US supervisor is responsible for staff training, education, and staff development. The individual collects quality data and actively participates in quality improvement initiatives for the department. The individual performs US exams and procedures within the ultrasound scope of practice guidelines.

    **EDUCATION:** ARDMS and RVT required, B.S. Degree required, CPR certification required, Breast board certified preferred

    **EXPERIENCE:** Three (3) to five (5) years ultrasound experience and two (2) years supervisory or equivalent experience is required.

    **PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:** Ability to function under pressure of time demands. Position requires eye-hand and gross body coordination skills; extensive walking. Position requires the ability to concentrate on details in spite of interruptions and attend to tasks for more than 30 minutes at a time. Individuals must be able to understand and relate theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given over long periods of time.
