Oversee the operations of the ED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administrationSupervise the EM staff, per the bylaws, policies and procedures of the institution
Represent the ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff
EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
~ Staffing Model: 3 physician shifts and 2 APP shifts daily with shift overlap
EMR:
Epic with voice recognition charting
Broad, community-type patient pathology
On-call support with hospitalists, general surgery, urology, OB/GYN, general orthopedics, dedicated hand surgeons, anesthesiology, cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology
Well-equipped including GlideScope and Ultrasound (Sonosite)
Emergency physicians do not write admitting orders
Excellent ACLS certified nursing staff
Transfers are sent to Saint Francis Hospital seven miles away
The emergency department is staffed by board-certified physicians
