Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Systems Administrator provides support to IT systems that include day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all of the client, server, and storage devices for the Laboratory for Physical Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems ( MIS ) or related field plus five years' experience in system administration and customer support.
Knowledge of business functions is also important, as is the ability to communicate with other employees in both technical and non-technical roles.
Experience supporting 100+ computers and 100+ users. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of training users in applications and operating system fundamentals and writing basic documentation.Preferences:
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Hyper-V.
Experience with Exchange Server, Remote Desktop Gateway, and Endpoint Manager.
Solid understanding of networking/distributed computing environment concepts; understand principles of routing, client/server programming, and the design of consistent network-wide file system layouts.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert ( MCSE ) and CompTIA Security+ certifications are a plus.Additional Certifications:

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and transport computer equipment up to 20 lbs. Ability to sit and stand for long stretches of time with extensive computer use. Responsibilities may require lifting equipment, working evenings, weekends, sometimes with little advance notice.
