    To continue this innovative spirit, we are looking for a highly motivated product development engineer to join the team and make a significant contribution to expanding our product offering, support our current designs, support continuous product improvement, and ease of assembly.


    This position is responsible for new product development, product feature enhancements, resolving quality issues, value engineering design, and completion of special or custom design requests.


    Norton Rixson is currently seeking a qualified electrical or embedded engineer that is experienced at design, is a strong team player, results oriented, and technically skilled individual to join our engineering team.


    Responsibilities:
    Work with cross-functional team to develop innovative products

    Participate in New Product Development, Product Support, and Continuous Product Improvement projects involving the following activities:

    Participate in concept development, planning, design and execution stages of major new products or product enhancements

    Develop specifications from Product Requirements documents

    Participate in Risk assessment exercises such as Failure Modes Effects Analysis

    Generate schematics and printed circuit board designs.

    Participate in peer reviews of product designs

    Work with Test and Manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet testability and manufacturability guidelines

    Prototype and test concept designs and initial engineering builds

    Perform Design Verification Testing and generate applicable reports

    Perform overall Product validation and usability testing

    Perform basic repairs and modifications to printed circuit boards as needed

    Follow Pilot Production and review first articles

    Support products as they mature through field return analysis and make design changes due to end-of-life components

    Coordinate activities utilizing a Lean process

    Manage day to day project tasks and coordinate with cross-functional team activities


    Requirements:
    BSEE/BSCE/BSEET with hardware and firmware experience.

    Minimum of 3 to 5 years of New Product Development experience required.

    Familiarity with analog, digital, and embedded hardware.

    Familiarity with C/C+and microcontrollers

    Proficient with use of general test equipment - oscilloscope, function generator, and multimeter

    Effective communicator of technical ideas using (English) verbal and written skills

    Works well in either a small or global team environment.


    Ability to interface with persons of multiple disciplines and job functions, including software/firmware engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, program managers, production personnel, and outside vendors.

    Highly motivated and self-driven, sets personal goals, and achieves goals without supervision.

    Willingness to set and meet deadlines.

    Must be detail oriented, organized, and conscientious. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment on multiple projects.

    Competent in hardware and firmware debugging.


    Desirable Qualifications:
    Design experience with analog, digital, and embedded hardware.

    Design experience with C/C+and microcontrollers

    Familiarity with low power (battery), DC Motors, and wireless communication technology.

    Experience in use of PC Board design software (EDA).
