    Bear Creek Nursing and Rehab Center is now hiring a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our Dietary Department. This is a unique opportunity to step into a fully staffed department with established systems, processes, and procedures already in place, and continue the success of a strong dietary program.
    Position Summary
    The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all food service operations in compliance with facility policies, CMS guidelines, and state and local regulations. This role ensures food safety, nutrition compliance, staff leadership, budget oversight, and an overall positive dining experience for residents.
    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead and oversee daily dietary operations with a focus on quality, compliance, and efficiency
    • Supervise, support, and schedule dietary staff
    • Manage and maintain the dietary department budget, ensuring food and supply costs remain within established guidelines
    • Monitor food usage, ordering, inventory, and waste to support cost control
    • Maintain accurate records for food inventory, equipment, and supplies
    • Ensure proper food preparation and service in accordance with resident dietary needs and physician orders
    • Manage and oversee modified and therapeutic diets
    • Promote a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment
    • Coordinate staffing coverage for dietary shifts and special events
    • Collaborate with Nursing and Administration to support resident satisfaction and operational goals
    • Maintain survey readiness and dietary regulatory compliance
    Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
    • An active Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) credential is required
    • Completion of an accredited CDM program and a successful exam is required
    • Minimum of 2 years of food service experience (management experience preferred)
    • Skilled Nursing Facility experience required
    • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, dietary regulations, and budget management principles
    • Experience with modified diets and nutritional standards
    • Ability to lift 20-25 lbs. frequently and 50-60 lbs. occasionally
    • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the workday
    • Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
    • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
    • Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements
    • Commitment to HIPAA compliance and resident confidentiality
