    Description

    Spire Orthopedic Partners is a growing national partnership of orthopedic practices that provides the support, capital and operational resources physicians need to grow thriving practices for the future.

    As a Management Services Organization (MSO), Spire provides the infrastructure for administrative operations that allows practices to operate at their highest level, so doctors can focus their efforts on what matters most – patient care.

    The Spire network spans the Northeast and is continuing to grow
    however, there may be occasions when the in-office ATC may be required to incur the Secondary Responsibilities.
    Prepares and maintains exam rooms with necessary instruments, equipment and supplies.
    Provides general assistance, education, home care exercise plans, and information to patient questions.
    Performs post-operative wound care, suture removal, dressing change, cast removal, cast application and splint application.
    Assists physicians in setup and performance of medical procedures under the direction of physician or clinical manager.
    Prepares, cleans and stocks examination rooms.

    Assures surfaces are clear and puts away any articles that were left out and replenishes missing stock in drawers and cabinets.

    Assists members of clinical support staff and physicians with all duties as necessary and appropriate. (includes patient care, post-op phone follow-up callsand other patient phone calls, medication updates)
    Facilities patient questions via "telephone triage,' and subsequently documents all phone calls and actions appropriately in EMR.
    Provides on-site athletic training services at local high schools and/or town and club programs contracted with ONS. Specific daily schedules are determined in discussions between the trainer, the Athletic Director and Director of Physical Therapy.
    Provides Athletic Trainer coverage for all local high school sporting events. all home and away varsity football contests and selected home contests scheduled for evenings or weekends.

    Provides continuing education for local high school coaches to keep them current on sports injury prevention, treatment and care.

    Monitors status of First Aid and CPR certifications of coaching staff and provides periodic certification classes if needed.
    Makes recommendations for diet and nutrition to facilitate health and reduce weight.
    Performs massage and soft tissue techniques to alleviate pain, restore function/motion and diminish edema.

    Renders first aid to injured patients, such as giving artificial respiration, cleaning and bandaging wounds, and applying heat and cold to promote healing.

    Utilizes wrapping/strapping techniques to prevent and help support injured areas.

    Confers with physical therapy team members individually and in conference to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying and coordinating treatment programs.

    Maintains accurate documentation of care of high school students and clinical patients.
    Maintains work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
    Follows all HIPAA and ONS policies and procedures as instructed

    Performs other duties/projects as assigned within the Physical Therapy clinic as an aide, when ATC hours do not meet full time requirements.

    Bachelor's degree in athletic training or equivalent.
