    Position Summary:


    The primary function of the Applied Behavior Analysis Coordinator is to coordinate the assessment for and delivery of direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disabilities and to supervise ABA Implementers.


    Essential Functions:

    • To coordinate all Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) assessments and programming based upon the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, AFLS and other recognized research-based measures for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disabilities
    • To train and supervise ABA Implementers and paraprofessionals who provide direct therapy, including discrete trial, in the least restrictive format
    • To determine effective caseloads and necessary supplies for effective delivery of ABA services
    • To develop and maintain a shared student progress data base in order to access annual VB-MAPP progress and reports
    • Monitor ABA programming and implementer reports regularly for progress, integrity, consistency with assessments and IEP goals
    • To assist eligibility teams in determining the special education eligibility of early childhood students with possible autism spectrum disorders
    • To provide behavioral support, strategies, and techniques to students and teachers in the least restrictive settings
    • Consult with teachers of students with autism and related disabilities regarding instructional objectives, skill development curriculum, environmental modifications, and use of materials, strategies and student motivation
    • To consult with IEP teams in developing IEPs with or without behavior plans and ABA goals
    • Consult with teachers regarding classroom management, behavioral strategies, and teacher relationships with students, parents, co-workers and administrators
    • To coordinate with case managers regarding the delivery, documentation, eligibility and generalization of ABA as a related service
    • To participate and guide teams in Review of Existing Data and Eligibility meetings where ABA services are being considered as a new service
    • Assist in developing, and implementing ABA based verbal behavior training for students
    • To provide MANDT de-escalation training, implementation and documentation district wide
    Other Related Duties


    • Conduct observations of students who may be referred and attend pertinent IEP meetings throughout the district on an as-needed basis
    • Maintain clear communication with staff and administration
    • Model district standards of ethics and professionalism
    • Perform other related duties as may be assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrated knowledge of ABA methodology including discrete trial, data collection and analysis, verbal behavior and social skills development
    • Evidence of good oral and written communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Current and ongoing knowledge in all areas of evidence based "best practices" and programming for students with ASD
    • Able to train and supervise staff in current effective practices
    • Must possess the knowledge and skills to focus on socially significant behaviors that will promote the students' educational opportunities, and transition from high school.
    • Ability to facilitate effective communication with staff, administration, and families regarding Applied Behavior Analysis

    Experience:

    • Prior experience in special education(preferred)
    • At least five years of experience with working with students utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis principles and methodologies in a school setting
    • Restraint/MANDT training certification(preferred)

    Education:

    • Master's Degree in Special Education, Psychology or related field; (required)
    • Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) Certification (preferred)

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
    • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
    • Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree

    Working Conditions and Environment:

    • Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environment
    • Very limited or no exposure to physical risk
