    Job Responsibilities

    As an Outside Plant Technician at Verizon, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal condition of our outside plant facilities. Your expertise and commitment to excellence will guarantee that our outside facilities operate at maximum efficiency and preparedness.

    • Maintain and repair outside plant infrastructure, including aerial, underground, submarine, buried, block, and house cables, poles, and associated hardware/fixtures.
    • Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/detach various types of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
    • Read and interpret engineering work orders.
    • Perform construction work using designated equipment, such as digging holes, placing poles, etc.
    • Operate Company motor vehicles to transport equipment.
    • Climb ladders and poles, work aloft, perceive differences in wire and cable colors, and move/lift items weighing up to 100 lbs.
    • Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as determined by business needs.

    Requirements

    To succeed in this role, you should possess knowledge of outside plant and construction practices, be organized, and have excellent communication skills. A valid state driver's license and CDL are also required.

    • Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
    • CDL.

    Additional Requirements

    While not necessary, having a related Associate Degree or 2+ years of relevant work experience can provide a competitive edge in this field.
