- Experience and demonstrated comfort level in verbal, written, and in-person communications.
- Security and/or privacy certifications from an accredited organization, such as International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) or International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
- Knowledge of the New York State Medicaid program, its systems, data, and uses.
- Expertise in public health, health information, or security and privacy policies and standards, such as NIST and Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) Acceptable Risk Safeguards (ARS).
- A bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of related experience in privacy, law, or healthcare policy.
- An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.
- A master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred.

About the Role:As a senior consultant in the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy practice, you will collaborate closely with team members to support our clients in today's rapidly evolving privacy landscape. In the privacy space, NYSTEC is considered a trusted program advisor, providing subject matter expertise and connecting the dots for our clients. Serving as a senior consultant, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include supporting the privacy program for the New York State Medicaid Program.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for data privacy and regulatory compliance and a deep knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act [HIPAA], as well as New York State and federal privacy laws and regulations. As a senior consultant, you will work both independently and with teams to develop solutions to complex problems.
Key ResponsibilitiesRequired Qualifications
The pay range for this position is $79,793.00 to $109,716.00 per year.
