    Description

    University Mental Health Counselor

    Western New England is seeking a Mental Health Counselor. This position is a full-time 9-month position that will serve ageneral case load providing individual, couples, and group counseling servicesto a diverse client body presenting with personal, career, and mental healthconcerns at Western New England University. The position will also providecrisis assessment and intervention, supervision, consultation, and outreachprogramming. Other responsibilities include maintaining electronicdocumentation of services, participating in committee work, sharing in weeklystaff training, working on multidisciplinary teams, volunteering for outreachwhen requested, and maintaining relevant professional credentials. Occasionalevening and weekend hours may be required.
    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Counseling or Psychology.
    • Licensure (or eligible) as a LMHC in Massachusetts. LDAC required.
    • One tothree years' post-degree experience in mental health setting.
    • Previousexperience working in a college setting or with college-aged clients ispreferred.
      Knowledgeof psychotherapy and counseling psychology practices.
    • Multiculturalawareness and cultural humility are highly valued. Working at CHW CounselingServices requires the ability to conceptualize a broad range of clinical issuesfrom a multicultural and social justice perspective. Diversity is recognizedand honored among all Counseling Services staff.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills andbasic computer skills are required.
    • Ability tointeract and work with various campus and community resources and partners.
      Strongpresentation and facilitation skills with an ability to develop and deliveroutreach and educational programming to various audiences.
    • Understanding of relevant confidentiality issues.
