    Summary:


    The NA VP of Engineering directs all aspects of project and capital engineering, technology, automation, and expansion activities for 15 food and consumer product facilities.

    This role holds oversight for all future automation, growth, upgrades, expansions, facility layouts and new installations.

    The ability to contribute to, understand and communicate the overall corporate strategies and objectives and how the engineering function drives this strategy will be critical.

    Responsibilities

    Manage strategic operations of the Engineering team across 15 facilities, managing 3 Directors and 20+ Managers
    Provide high-level direction to engineering projects, installations, overhauls, modifications, upgrades, design, and layout for new and existing facilities
    Manage capex budgets ranging for $300 - $500 million per year
    Provide engineering leadership to food & cpg processing and packaging equipment capacity projects, infrastructure improvements, cost management imperatives and strategic initiatives
    Collaboration with operations, R&D, supply, and external suppliers/vendors
    Drive standardization and serve as a technical liaison between the manufacturing plants
    Identifies resource needs and organizes effective teams
    Leads technical-based programs across manufacturing
    Travel 30% including trips to Canada and Mexico as needed

    Requirements:
    BS Engineering Degree is required

    ; prefer in Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. MBA, Masters, Lean /Six-sigma or related education / certifications is preferred
    years of director / VP level engineering experience, with a focus on managing a capex budget at a minimum of $100 per year
    Must have experience in highly automated operation using new technology, and robotics. Prefer foods, consumer products, automotive, beverage, plastics, and related automated environments
    Experience working for a large corporation with multiple sites, and understanding the complexity of navigating approval process for large projects
    Strategic level role and understands how to influence all levels of management from the board of directors to CEO to Plant Managers / Engineering Managers at each site
    Functional excellence and demonstrated subject matter expertise in LSS/TPM/WCM
    Proven project management leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple high-scale, high dollar projects
    Excellent communication/presentation skills with an ability to negotiate with vendors, contractors, and consultants
    Able to make independent and sound decisions
    Self-starter, excellent team building skills, problem-solver, creative and able to be flexible and rework problems from a different aspect each time
    Able to provide analysis of options and improvements
    Experience managing manufacturing operations is a plus
    Passport is required for future travel to Mexico and or Canada
