    The Development Associate will support the Development Managers and Market Leaders throughout all phases of development execution, from due diligence through construction, for first and third party developments in the Los Angeles and Southern California area. They will assist in the day-to-day management of ongoing developments during the, acquisition, entitlement, permitting, design, pre-construction, and construction phases. This role will provide exposure to a variety of product types including: mixed-use, multifamily, and industrial development. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a background in architecture, construction, planning, real estate, or a related field to contribute to the success of high-profile real estate ventures.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the preparation and management of project schedules, budgets, and reports.
    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure project objectives are met within established parameters.
    • Assist with coordinating with local and state agencies to obtain entitlements, permits, and approvals for proposed projects.
    • Participate in project meetings, site visits, and inspections to monitor progress and address any issues or concerns.
    • Prepare and distribute project documentation, reports and presentations as needed.
    • Support the procurement process by soliciting bids, reviewing proposals, and assisting with negotiating contracts.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to project activities, expenses, and correspondence.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Development Manager or senior management.

    Desired Competency, Experience and Skills:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in real estate development, architecture, construction management, urban planning, or a related field"
    • Strong understanding of the development process, including entitlements, design, permitting, and construction.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Microsoft Project is a plus.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
    • Knowledge of local zoning regulations, building codes, and permitting requirements in the Los Angeles area is preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, Urban Planning or related major preferred.
    • Master degree is real estate development is a plus.
