    Purpose & overall relevance in the organization

    Mange and evolve an industry-leading sport science infrastructure by developing, implementing, and improving equipment, methodologies, and processes that enable adidas to deliver on its research programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage and coordinate relevant lab programs and activities which enable the team to increase the understanding of the athlete and athlete-product interactions (footwear and apparel)
    • Manage and execute testing of prototypes and innovative product concepts, prior to commercialization, in close cooperation with other members of the Athlete Science Team.
    • Manage internal and external research programs to develop new physical and digital test methods and relevant equipment.
    • Develop and implement automation tools that support analysis and data management of sports science relevant data
    • Educate and train colleagues by sharing knowledge on an on-going basis
    • Stay connected to relevant current and upcoming research, technologies, methods, and industry trends.
    • Identify and partner with industry-leading organizations to extend the research capability of the team

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Curiosity for science and technology with a passion to generate insights in the field of sport
    • Ability to understand scientific and complex information, and communicate this to technical and non-technical audiences
    • Strong analytical skills, solution driven mindset with passion to proactively find the best solution
    • Cooperate well- develop, and maintain relationships
    • Plan working time efficiently, balancing short term tasks with long term goals
    • Good communication and organizational skills
    • Computer literacy (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to analyses and understand large datasets, programming skills preferred (MATLAB or Python)
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team atmosphere
    • Fluent English (required)
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

    Requisite Education and Experience

    • University degree in Biomechanics, Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or relevant field
    • At least 3 years of relevant experience (PhD will be considered)
