Assistant Nurse Manager will help manage both 6 and 8th smythe


Available shift:
2 x 12hour shift (7a-7p) and 2 x 8 hour shift (11a-7p or 3p-11p) Day/Evening 8 SMYTHE Cardiac / Telemetry

• Cardiac/Telemetry focused unit with 21 private rooms
• Patients include Post open heart surgery, Thoracic surgeries, MI, Cardiac Arrhythmias, and Post Heart Catheterizations.
• All rooms equipped with overhead lifts and in addition 2 bathrooms have overhead lifts
• - 5:1 patient ratio 6 SMYTHE Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical
• 6 Smythe is a 22 bed orthopedic and medical-surgical floor. The floor is primarily orthopedic patients but also includes non- telemetry medical surgical patients. The census of the floor fluctuates. The average daily census is 10.

Staffing Ratios:
The staffing ratios vary between day and night shift. Normally day shift nurses have 4-6 pts and night shift 5 to 6 patients. The patient care techs normally have up to 10 but that may vary.

To maintain the nursing staff in all areas as well as to deliver safe efficient age specific nursing care to patient/families.

Essential duties include:
Routinely provide patient care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team. Maintains employee records. Identifies needs for and provides Staff education/staff development. Participates in Discharge planning, community resource referrals and education. Committee involvement, participate with quality improvement initiatives. Oversees daily operations of unit/area in a cost effective manner. Involved in Community outreach activities as pertinent Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients/customers and co-workers. Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment. Displays commitment to the mission and values of the organization.


Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Nursing, ADN RN - Registered Nurse BSN or MN req w/in 2 yrs. Cert in specialty clinical area or leadership w/in 2 yrs. BLS. ALS & PALS may be required per area. 1-2 yrs clinical exp. Supports 8 Smythe and 6 Smythe
