Position OverviewThe
Director of Nursing (RN)
is responsible to oversee and coordinate the care and services of Residents, promote the effective utilization and monitoring of health care resources, and lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve desired clinical, emotional and wellness outcomes in accordance with federal, state, local, company standards and established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Executive Director.
Establish and monitor goals and expectations for the Assisted Living and Memory Care departments.
Plan, direct, and evaluate the programs, activities and schedules of the Assisted Living and Memory Care departments in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, guidelines and company practices.
Make reports and recommendations to the Executive Director as necessary or required concerning the operation of the departments.
Participate in and oversee the admission and on-going Resident assessment and care planning process.
Updates Residents and Families when appropriate to assist in safe, respectful and appropriate transitions to other care settings, as necessary.
Act as Resident/Administrative advocate for development of and participation in Residents' Council for the Assisted Living and Memory Care Setting.
Complete appropriate forms, reports, evaluations, and studies.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Assisted Living Administrator License and/or other License as required by the state
RN Required
CPR
At least 3yrs progressively responsible work experience in the senior living industry or related field
Skills
Ability to read and write, follow written and oral instructions, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
Ability to perform duties with consideration for Residents' rights at all times and demonstrate integrity and discretion in the care of Residents and in handling their health information.
Knowledge of medical/nursing practices and procedures, laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to senior living care.
Experience with clinical and diagnostic procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, interpret, and manage programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and resources necessary to provide quality of care.
