    The Development Associate is responsible for key organizational fundraising activities including donor acknowledgment, cultivation, special events, and grant management including research, writing, and reporting.

    The Associate also plays a pivotal role in supporting all fundraising campaigns and appeals.

    The Development Associate is responsible for updating and maintaining a fundraising database to track giving throughout its lifecycle, from solicitation and acknowledgement to stewardship, recognition, and beyond.

    The Development Associate is a member of the Operations Team and reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement.

    Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    Work together with members of the Development team to meet or exceed annual revenue goals.
    Contribute to the creation of an annual fundraising plan and maintain the department calendar.
    Manage the donor database, including data entry, report generation, pledge tracking and invoicing, and moves management. Ensure accurate record-keeping of contributions.
    Implement thank you protocols, including executing timely donor acknowledgement.
    Maintain all development files and records.
    Coordinate planning for fundraising or stewardship events.

    Support the grant writing process, including drafting and/or editing applications and reports, communicating with foundation contacts, and updating standard materials.

    Prepare reports and mailing lists as required.
    Participate in the creation, planning, and implementation of new and existing projects.
    Coordinate Title IIA and Title IV Funding requests.
    Serve as production manager for mail and electronic appeals, social media fundraising, newsletters, and donor correspondence.
    Model professionalism, hard work, and high ethical standards.
    Actively participate in staff meetings.
    Perform other duties as assigned.
    Protect the organization by keeping information confidential.
    Skills and Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree (communications, journalism, public relations, English, or related field preferred)
    1-2 year of experience in related field
    Organized
    Exceptional writing, editing, and communications skills
    Highly-motivated, self-starter who can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
    Strong analytical and decision-making skills
    Creative with capacity to think big and pay attention to detail
    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    Tech savvy and adaptable to new software and tools. Experience with Neon CRM (or another CRM) preferred, but not required
    Strong interpersonal skills and high level of professionalism
    Ability to be flexible
    Openness to learning
