    Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The A&P Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of assembly tasks related to aircraft structures and systems, particularly for the 787 line. Candidates must possess the skills and knowledge necessary to carry out the general functions associated with the assembly and installation of aircraft parts and assemblies.Key Responsibilities:
    1. Assembly/Installation of Structures: Execute the assembly and installation of aircraft structures according to blueprints, specifications, work orders, and other documentation to meet quality requirements.
    2. Sub Assembly: Participate in sub-assembly processes as needed.
    3. Blueprints and Documentation: Interpret and work with blueprints, changes, specifications, and work orders to assemble and install parts and assemblies to meet quality standards.
    4. Data Management: Complete necessary data gathering transactions to facilitate progression of assembly.
    5. Manual and Automated Operations: Set up and perform all manual and automated assembly operations, including the use of portable machines required to complete assignments.
    6. Testing and Rework: Conduct functional testing, rework, fabrication, change incorporation, and checks during or after final assembly and/or assembly progression.
    7. Materials Handling: Efficiently move and obtain the correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies as required for the tasks.
    8. Precision Measurement: Utilize precision measuring instruments to accomplish work assignments accurately.
    9. Problem Reporting: Report and investigate potential issues such as errors in parts, assembly procedures, tools, sequences, etc.
    10. Product Movement: Routinely move products within the immediate manufacturing work area using assigned equipment and complete necessary transactions to move the product to the next operation. On occasion, move product to the next operation within the building when required.
    11. Urgency of Role:
    12. Immediate Start: Workers must be able to start as soon as possible and must be able to work any shift as required.
    13. Qualifications:
      1. 5+ years of experience in aircraft assembly, specifically with composite materials.
      2. Experience working on composite aircraft is required.
      3. A&P license is not a requirement but is advantageous.
      4. Must be able to pass the Plate Test Assessment.
      5. Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
      6. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and blueprints.
    14. Special Notes: This role is specifically for contractors looking to do rework on composite aircraft for the 787 line. Candidates must provide a copy of their job description to their resources.
