- Provide assessment and nursing care for ill and injured students
- Identify signs and symptoms of communicable disease and follow infectious disease control procedures.
- Demonstrate and utilize knowledge of drug and treatment protocols when administering medication and treatments.
- Inform principal, principal designee and health services supervisor of health concerns noted on campus.
- Provide appropriate intervention for crisis situations.
- Serve as a resource person to students, families and staff as appropriate.

POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE
In the absence of the regular campus RN, the substitute nurse will provide daily care, administer medications and treatments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RN in the state of Texas
Experience in community and/or pediatric nursing preferred
Current CPR certification
Certification in vision, hearing and spinal screening recommended
