Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner at PeaceHealth in Ketchikan, Alaska

Seeking an experienced Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Ketchikan, Alaska

Post-training experience in a primary care setting preferred
Beautiful building, well equipped for a Critical Access facility
Clinic Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Large, shared office with windows

PeaceHealth has been serving communities of Southeast Alaska since 1923 with Ketchikan Medical Center, a 25-bed critical-access hospital offering comprehensive trauma care, outpatient and home health services, and a 29-bed long-term care facility
Relocation stipend based on miles between locations
Education Loan Reimbursement program (if applicable and eligible)
Comprehensive Benefit package including Medical/Dental/Vision/Disability/Life/Wellness
Within scope of practice and in alignment with both hospital staff bylaws and PHMGs physician supervision expectations, responsible for advanced level of nursing evaluation, clinical assessment, prescribing and monitoring medications and follow-up care for patient
Works in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff, which allows for consultation, collaboration, or referral
Gives directions to nursing and other staff
Educates patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications
Maintains legible, accurate, and confidential medical records
Documents all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals and consultations according to established standards
Analyzes new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and assimilates this knowledge into clinical practice
Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patient, families, nursing staff, and other departments
Requires training in psychopharmacology
