    Job Title: Senior/Staff Automation Engineer - Integration and Scale

    Description:

    GRAIL's research and development team is on a mission to develop automated systems for high-scale diagnostic testing. They are looking for passionate individuals to join them in this groundbreaking endeavor.



    Responsibilities:

    • Develop, configure, and troubleshoot automated solutions for clinical diagnostic testing.
    • Analyze workflows and implement scalable automated procedures.
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams to establish technical requirements.
    • Research, test, and document automated workflows.
    • Stay updated on emerging laboratory automation technologies.
    • Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and equipment maintenance.
    • Recommend engineering improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering with automation experience.
    • 5+ years of experience for Senior role; 7+ years for Staff role in automation systems.
    • Hands-on experience with robotic workcells and automation projects.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD systems.
    • Knowledge of control systems and HMI/SCADA systems.
    • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.

    Nice To Have:

    • Experience with a variety of laboratory instruments.
    • Knowledge of regulatory environments (CLIA / CAP / FDA / ISO).
    • Background in reagent manufacturing, especially in a regulated setting (cGMP).
    • Proficiency in programming languages like C#, powershell, python.
    • Understanding of communications protocols and GD&T principles.
