    Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Medical Center is a 370-bed not-for-profit Level 2 Trauma Center located in Carmichael California serving the areas of north Sacramento County and south Placer County for more than 50 years.

    Responsibilities

    _Per Diem Registered Nurse Trauma Med/Surg_
    Our 32-bed Trauma Med/Surg Unit receives direct admits from our Emergency Department and transfers from our TICU.

    The unit is equipped with a monitoring system (a camera/monitor in the patients room) which allows a video monitor tech (VMT) to communicate via microphone with the patient in the room or if needed activate an alarm to alert staff.

    Besides the opportunity to learn via classes our Trauma Surgeons are very supportive in helping with staff education to allow RNs to be more comfortable and confident in managing Trauma patients.


    Position Summary:
    The incumbent provides coordinates and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach.

    The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge.

    Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team providing leadership personal/professional development and conducting him/herself professionally.


    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital
    • Current California RN License required
    • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
    • Other certifications may be required

    Pay Range
    $ $82.88 /hour
