REPORTS TO: Retail Coordinator

LOCATION: Primarily - Serengeti Springs at the Hattiesburg Zoo.

SHIFT: Serengeti Springs Waterpark will operate seven (7) days per week from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.

Seasonal Full-Time - Generally 40 hours per week on an alternating schedule of weekdays and weekends, with occasional nights, holidays and special events as required.

Seasonal Part-Time - Varied weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. Maximum of 29 hours per week.

SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Retail Associate at Hattiesburg Zoo In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing the guest experience by providing exceptional customer service and managing retail operations at the zoo's gift shops and markets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assisting with retail operations at the Hattiesburg Zoo Gift Shop, Serengeti, Yellow Zebra, Ladha's & Zawadi's Market
• Restocking merchandise and managing inventory
• Processing zoo pass holders and providing product knowledge to guests
• Maintaining a positive and welcoming attitude at all times

As a successful candidate, you will have a passion for enhancing the guest experience and providing a pleasant shopping experience. You will be expected to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude, and to go above and beyond to ensure that our guests are receiving exceptional customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working in a retail environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• A passion for enhancing the guest experience
• A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, perform some heavy lifting, and complete outdoor tasks
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in a customer service or retail role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and friendly attitude
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to handle cash transactions and follow accounting procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively
• Comfortable working in a team environment, with the ability to take direction and work collaboratively with other staff members
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
