Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Three (3) years of full-time related experience involving grant awards. Computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) with potential to be a Certified Grants Management Specialist. Previous experience and exposure to higher education, public employment and a multi-unionized environment. Experience with MS Project. Experience with ACADD.
Brief Description of Duties:
Working in conjunction with the Office of Sponsored Programs, Grants and Program Coordinator develops resources, researches funding sources, and writes proposals to a variety of organizations.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving is an integral component of this role.
Experience and a deep understanding of Federal/State/Local Grant Redirects required.Develops resources, researches funding sources, and writes proposals to a variety of organizations:
Prepares contract proposals in accordance with Campus goals and objectives.
Administers major contracts and related documents.
Maintains awareness of and disseminates information to management on state and federal laws, regulations and policies and procedures that may impact grant proposals.
As needed, may negotiate contractual provisions with potential partners.Develops an appropriate budget.
Assists in the monitoring process:
Assists in monitoring the proposal process, ensures funder's policies and legal requirements are followed.
Devises timelines, responds to requests for data, prepares reports as needed.
Receives and administers the same grant.
Reviews and approves all expenditures.
Ensures compliance with requirements such as effort reporting.
Creates budget reconciliations and forecasting reports, and uses those reports to meet regularly with faculty to review their financial situations.
Completes timely journal entries as necessary, grant close-outs, etc.Other duties as assigned.
Special Notes:
The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment.
FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
This position is eligible for alternative workplace arrangements/telework (remote or virtual) or hybrid.
