    Ocean Park Mechanical is one of the premier design-build mechanical contractors in Western USA and Western Canada, with operations in Washington, Oregon, California, and British Columbia.

    By providing the majority of mechanical requirements in-house, including engineering, 3D BIM services, plumbing, sheet metal, HVAC, refrigeration, and controls, we are a "ONE-STOP" shop for any project.

    Reporting Structure & Job Location:
    This position will report directly to the Regional Manager and is based out of Los Angeles, CA office

    Job Responsibilities:


    Lead intermediate and junior designers in completing construction documentationConduct construction field reviews and prepare review reportsCollaborate with internal and external parties to produce coordinated design solutionDevelop design documents, plans, schematics, reports, and calculations in compliance with client standards, company standards, and appliable local codes and regulationsConduct load calculations and specify mechanical equipmentProvide technical support to OPM construction team and its sub-trades for troubleshooting and time/cost-efficient installation processAttend internal and external design and construction progress meetingsProvide technical support to the internal BIM clash detection team in resolving conflicts between different building services systems, the building structure, and the building architecture.

    Review equipment shop drawings and carry out construction administrative tasksQualifications and Experience:

    Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 10+ years' of directly related experience PE Designation considered an assetStrong background in HVAC, Plumbing, and/or mechanical engineering componentsProficiency with Autodesk products (CAD), Navisworks, Revit, Victaulic Tools, or SysQue is requiredPrior experience in an MEP consulting is considered an asset.

    Advanced knowledge of MS Office 365 software toolsWork experience in HVAC, plumbing, or sheet metal trades is considered an assetSkills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of American building services codes and standardsSome knowledge of Canadian building services codes and standards is considered an asset but not requiredAbility to interpret architectural, structural, and electrical drawings with minimum supervisionAbility to manage multiple projects and tasksAbility to meet sensitive timelinesSelf-motivated and initiative taker on a wide variety of tasksThoughtful and confident decision-making and high ethical standardsProven verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalismProblem-solving skills and the ability to think and react quickly under pressureOcean Park Mechanical is an equal-opportunity employer that values diversity and encourages applicants of all backgrounds.
