    Description


    The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Optician is responsible for dispensing opticianry services in support of the Optometry program and serves as an Optometric Assistant to facilitate the provision of clinical Optometric care to customer-owners.

    The Optician position has two (2) job levels.

    Progression from Optician Apprentice to Optician is required and must be attained within one (1) year or within two (2) ABO exam cycles following completion of 1800 hours as an Apprentice.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    High School diploma; OR GED.Licensed as a Dispensing Optician Apprentice in the State of Alaska; OR become licensed within two (2) months of hire as a Dispensing Optician Apprentice.

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.


    Additional Qualifications for Optician:
    Meets all requirements of Apprentice Optician in addition to the following:Licensed as an Optician in the State of Alaska within one (1) year of being a licensed Dispensing Optician Apprentice or within four (4) ABO exam cycles following completion of 1800 hours as an Apprentice

    Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position, requires that you have documentation that you have completed the following immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, and T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), COVID19 vaccination required
