The Procurement Specialist is ensuring that the items and services needed to build and maintain our service & technology products are purchased from specified suppliers and are delivered according to agreed terms and conditions.
An important aspect of this role is seeking maximum value for the company through time and cost agreements while working with technologically advanced products.
This role will also be responsible for accurate asset management and tracking of company-owned hardware, as well as internal desktop deployment builds for newly issued company-owned hardware.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview planned orders, create requisitions for purchased items, and manage approval processTransmit and prioritize approved purchase orders and supporting documents to supplierTrack order acknowledgement, prepare and communicate shortage and backlog reports, and provides visibility of potential interruptions to internal customersTrack orders and confirm system lead times, delivery dates, and costsReview, update, and maintain purchase orders until they are closedAssist finance and logistics staff in resolving reception and invoice discrepanciesIdentify opportunities and implement actions to achieve efficiencyOversees price negotiations; purchase order creation; order tracking and management; and price dispute resolutionsAssess whether current purchases are performing well enough to justify their costs; may be asked to offer suggestions as to more cost-effective or more easily procured materials and products that can help lower a company's bottom lineBuild strong relationships with software publisher partners, fostering collaboration and teamworkSupport Sales and Client Advisory in strategic situations to identify the most cost effective and optimal sourcing solutionDevelop and implements efficiencies, standardized tools, practices, and procedures shortening the quotation, RFP and decision making and evaluation timeDevelop, implement, and maintain procurement policies and reviews on a regular basis to ensure relevance and conformance with best practices and ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies, including Sarbanes-OxleyPerform a range of professional assignments and independent judgment where required to carry out assignments that have a significant impact on services or programsThis job description is not designed to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities required of the employee in this position, as duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without noticeQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Purchasing or related field from an accredited college or universityIn lieu of undergraduate degree, the ratio is 1:- meaning one year of college equals one year of work experience and vice versaExperienceCustomarily has at least 2 years of industry related experienceSkills/AttributesSynoptek core DNA behaviors: Clarity: Possesses excellent communication skills, makes a concentrated effort to speak the customers language.
