Position Summary
Position performs scribe duties for physician clinical service documenting (on behalf of the physician) everything said during the course of the service.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fulfills the primary administrative support and non-clinical functions of a busy physician by scribing medical data into a paper or electronic medical record system.
- Documents the events and decision-making accurately in a manner that results in appropriate medical charting.
- Scribes also complete clerical activities necessary to assist with processing of physician orders for tests and medications.
- Charts patient encounters accurately and timely, including but not limited to patient history, physical exams, diagnostic findings, lab and test results, consultations with other providers, emergency department treatment course, diagnoses, discharge instructions and prescriptions.
