    Description
    Job Description BAE Systems is seeking Navy LINK and Exterior Communications (EXCOMM) Technicians with experience in performing comprehensive component and system level maintenance for shipboard Systems. The work is performed at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) in Wallops Island, VA. The SCSC is located on a barrier island on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and is a tenant of the NASA's Wallops Flight Facility.

    SCSC provides live combat systems suites with platform specific radars and sensors and supports the following functions:

    combat system lifetime support engineering, platform certification, operational and technical evaluation, combat system training, interoperability testing and participates in at-sea exercises.

    SCSC provides a high-fidelity representative combat system of every ship in the AEGIS, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) fleet today and those planned in the future.


    The selected candidate will perform comprehensive equipment and system level maintenance on all LINK and EXCOMM systems at the AEGIS and SSDS facilities in SCSC Wallops Island VA.

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills Minimum education and years of service required: High School/GED and at least three years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. PQS 301 qualification is required. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she must be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within 3 months of employment.

    Experience required in one or more of the following Systems:
    LINK 11
    LINK 16

    CDLMS
    SA-2112
    Crypto Systems
    HF/VHF/UHF Radio Systems
    DAMA and other SAT Systems

    Provide system/equipment configuration and operational support for all deployed baseline AEGIS and SSDS variants


    Schedule planned maintenance actions utilizing the SKED program in accordance with the Navy's Maintenance Material Management (3M) system and also be responsible for documenting all maintenance actions, including repair part requisitions, using the OMNS-NG program.

    Successful candidate must be willing and able to perform in a variety of 40 hour work-week configurations, including:

    • Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 1st Shift
    • Monday-Friday (5 x 8): 2nd Shift
    • Variable 4 x 10 shifts that may include weekends (4 days on/3 days off) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
    • Sliding (5 x 8) work weeks (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday) and may be 1st or 2nd shift
    **PLEASE NOTE - These work week configurations may be scheduled on a rotational basis

    Security clearance requirement:
    This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance.

    Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.



    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Highly desired, but not required:
    Active DoD clearance
    Certified ETA Fiber Optic Installer
    Experience trouble shooting and repairing Low Level Serial and Parallel interface cables
    Experience with Network devices and an understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX

    Pay Information

    Full-Time Salary Range:
    $ $416000

    This range is based on our market pay structures.

    business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
