    This position is for a CNC Machinist and they will be responsible for sets up and operating multi-axis mill and turning machines, ancillary processes, and other machines as required to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts, and assists engineering in new product and new process development. Most of the work is done on horizontal machines both mill. Candidates will do minor program editing but expected to run 1 machine in 1 cell, setting up machines up to 2 times per shift. The position is on a horizontal machining center with Fanuc Controls, they will add Renishaw probing cycles to the CNC programs.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Setup and operate multi-axis mill/turn machines, secondary equipment, and other machines as necessary to meet production requirements.

    Work on brands such as DMG, Mori, DMC 125 FD and SHW UniSpeed 6T, Mori Seiki (DMG Mori), Toyoda, Toshiba, and Kuraki equipment

    Works with cnc programmers & engineers to improve processes, decrease cycle time, and improve quality.

    Helps develop new parts for full production run rates.

    Assists in the training of new and existing employees.

    Assists supervisor and engineering in problem resolution.

    Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.

    Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on all machines located within the cell.

    Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.

    Sets up and operates machines during new part or new program development to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.

    Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.

    Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.

    Assists machine operators as needed.

    Confers with engineers, production personnel, lead persons, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
