    The Strategic Partnerships team is tasked with sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and implementing custom commercial partnerships to drive significant new inorganic growth opportunities to support eBay across its core markets. We advise senior leadership and business unit owners on partner strategy, lead cross-functional teams to drive deal execution, and support the implementation and ongoing management and development of partners.

    We are seeking a Principal who will be responsible for structuring and owning the end-to-end deal execution process for key strategic partnerships for eBay. This role will be vital in growing and scaling some of the most impactful partnerships and initiatives, providing invaluable thought leadership and deal execution expertise that align with the key strategic priorities for eBay. This role reports to the Global Head of Strategic Partnerships and eBay Ventures.

    The candidate will combine excellent business insight with exceptional facility with data and operational rigor to become a key business partner and trusted advisor across the organization. The candidate will be able to balance moving quickly while keeping focused on high impact transformational projects, to see the big picture while being hands-on and in the details, and to operate independently and productively with limited direction and supervision in a fast-paced and rapidly-evolving environment.

    What You Will Accomplish:

    Strategic Thinking: Identify, evaluate and develop partnership opportunities that align with eBay's business goals and strategic priorities, and that is based on insightful competitive analysis, market research, and partnership landscape planning. Provide thought leadership on strategic opportunities and synthesize into compelling communications tailored to various audiences including senior executives.

    Deal Execution: Initiate, structure and close partnership deals. Negotiate business terms and partnership agreements, including drafting term sheets and supporting the legal team to implement contracts. Ensure that eBay achieves optimum structure, terms and conditions for each deal, consistent with the overall business strategy.

    Deal Scoping & Financial Analysis: Identify key success metrics for deals to evaluate critical initiatives. Analyze financial impact of potential deals, including Excel deal modeling and assessment.

    Project Management: Lead a dynamic set of critical projects simultaneously while working towards delivery against tight timelines. Partner cross-functionally with Strategy, Analytics, Corporate Development, CVC, Product & Engineering, Markets, Marketing, and other internal teams, to build cases and drive end to end partnership strategy formulation and execution.

    What You Will Bring:

    • 10+ years of relevant professional experience: management consulting, investment banking, strategy, or partnership/go-to-market backgrounds preferred
    • Ability to run multiple concurrent projects and drive action and outcomes in a large cross-functional organization with minimal supervision
    • Outstanding analytical abilities to solve problems and provide practical and actionable business insights from complex data
    • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to create succinct and structured executive-level presentations
    • Excel in a fast-paced, evolving and demanding work environment with a passion for technology and e-commerce marketplaces
    • Ability to influence with diplomacy and tact across the organization to ensure business objectives are met
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from a top tier university. MBA or other advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred

    The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

    $144,000 - $216,150

    Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
