Job description
Our client in the luxury eyewear industry is seeking a Licensed Optician (ABOC) to join their SoHo gallery team. This is an opportunity to combine technical optical expertise with an elevated, client-focused luxury retail experience. The ideal candidate is confident, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering exceptional service while meeting sales goals.Responsibilities
Deliver a personalized, elevated client experience while achieving individual sales targets and KPIs
Build and maintain a strong client book with a focus on appointment-based relationships
Guide clients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, fit, and lifestyle needs
Accurately take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear, and ensure precise order fulfillment
Process and communicate orders to external labs while managing timelines and follow-ups
Assess and perform frame adjustments and minor repairs with accuracy
Support and elevate the gallery team through optical knowledge and training
Maintain organization, documentation accuracy, and adherence to operational procedures
Requirements
Active ABOC License (required)
2–4 years of experience in an optician or optical retail environment
Experience mounting and edging lenses; buffing and polishing experience is a plus
Strong knowledge of prescriptions, lens options, and fitting techniques
Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a client-focused environment
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships
Ability to multitask and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced setting
