    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    The Lead Test Engineer is a technical leader for the verification of complex electronic systems. Individuals in this role will perform customer requirement review, help to define test methods and test equipment, preparing test documentation as test plan and test procedures, schedule test activities and test personnel.

    Job duties may include but are not limited to:

    • Lead integration and test activities of multi-function space systems.
    • Assesses project design and viability from a verification and validation perspective.
    • Lead test planning efforts for a program including understanding the test equipment and personal needs to complete verification testing of the product.
    • Document verification effort through writing test plans and test procedures.
    • Support first article testing with an eye to improve the product design and verification procedures for follow-on production units.
    • Coordinate with product test teams and test technicians to improve daily operations and increase throughput and efficiency.
    • Support process improvement for requirements verification and test practices.
    • Collaborate with program management, system and subsystem engineers, mission assurance, technicians, and other program personnel.
    • Effectively train and mentor junior test engineers and test technicians.
    • Participate in test equipment design including test cables, custom circuits, software, and firmware.
    • Provide estimates for both execution of existing work and for changes in scope.
    • Perform other duties as necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/Certification: BS degree in mechanical, electrical, computer science, aerospace engineering or other relevant technical discipline.

    Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in electronics testing.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


    • Ability to lead testing activities of PCA-s, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and electronic systems.


    • Hands on experience with the integration & testing of complex electronic systems.


    • Ability to record and process test failures and participate on troubleshooting to identify the root cause of the failure.


    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


    • Strong team player and leadership skills.


    • Familiarity with environmental testing to space industry standards, including random vibration, thermal cycling, thermal vacuum, and EMI/EMC is desirable.


    • Ability to be granted a security clearance.
