    CaseBuilder is a part of SoundThinkings SafetySmart platform that provides an enterprise-level SaaS solution to manage any sort of investigatory cases.

    It helps local, state, and federal investigators automate the manual process of working a case.

    A centralized digital case folder enables detectives to add evidence such as video and photos, shell casings, and witness statements anything related to an open case all in a single location.

    Analytical and collaboration tools help investigators connect the dots and share information faster while reporting helps package cases for command staff and prosecutors.

    This results in higher solvability and case closure rates. We see this as a new and better approach to help solve more crimes.

    In addition to investigative case management software, the CaseBuilder product line includes internal affairs, intelligence dossier, property, personnel, and other management modules.

    We are looking for a senior-level product management professional to further our efforts for this product line and help continue to expand its reach and growth.

    The role includes continuing to develop the long-term vision for the CaseBuilder products, being the voice and face of the product evangelizing both internally and externally, determining the right verticals to compete in, integration with other SoundThinking products, defining the roadmap for each part of the product line, and developing innovative functionality to add value to the investigators work process.

    The position reports to the SVP of Marketing and Product Strategy.
    Essential Responsibilities/Duties
    Own and drive all aspects of product management for the CaseBuilder product line (currently CaseBuilder and CaseBuilder | Gun Crime) including product vision, product evangelism internally and externally, roadmap, requirements, business justification, prioritization, trade-offs, partner integrations
    Develop deep understanding of workflow, pain points, and needs of criminal justice investigators and supervisors at local, state and federal agencies to inform product direction
    Analyze potential new vertical segments to compete in and make recommendations on key functionality required to win
    Research market trends and competitive products and conduct customer research to shape product decisions
    Create internal communications related to product releases and work with marketing to drive product-related messaging
    Present annual roadmap semi-annually to Executive Management team at Product Council
    Define product integrations that make sense across the SoundThinking product line as well as with third parties
    Work collaboratively with internal groups such as customer success, sales, customer support, and engineering to develop proposed roadmap of releases
    Represent SoundThinking externally as a domain and product expert at industry events, customer visits, and other outbound activities
    Minimum Qualifications
    12+ years product management or equivalent experience with SaaS software companies
    5+ years experience in public safety software - CAD/RMS/JMS/Case Management, etc.
    Familiarity with CJIS and NIBRS compliance
    Experience with agile methodologies like scrum and Kanban for software development

    Software tool experience:
    Jira, Confluence, etc.

    Great listening and synthesizing skills to gather inputs from multiple sources and come up with a recommended best plan of action.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills, clear and concise with an ability to handle both executive-level discussions as well as functional deep dives
    Fantastic problem-solving abilities, analytical horsepower, and attention to detail
    Readiness to roll up sleeves and make a big impact in a rapidly growing market
    Ability to juggle the complexities of the demands of large agencies who have vocal stakeholders with competing priorities
    Track record of success working cross-functionally with other departments, particularly engineering
    Usability or user experience aptitude preferred
    Some technical background preferred
    Mix of start-up and corporate experience preferred
    Must be able to pass both FBI and state level background checks

    Location:
    Position can be remote with preference to be on the east coast.

    Travel:
    Limited with occasional visits to customer sites, prospect pitches, SoundThinking HQ in Fremont CA, and industry events.
