Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Associate

About the Opportunity

Our client, a global law firm, is currently seeking a Data Privacy Associate to join their growing Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity group. In this partner/shareholder track position, you will work with a global team of privacy and security attorneys and have direct exposure to clients.

Required Education and Certification(s)

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in State of California
• IAPP CIPP certification (U.S. and EU) preferred

Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience providing legal advice on data protection matters, including driving data breach preparation, risk mitigation, coordination and responses
• Experience advising companies with compliance issues in relation to the CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, the FTC Act and other global privacy laws and regulations; knowledge of HIPAA, FCRA, GLBA, COPPA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM is beneficial.
• Experience drafting and revising privacy notices, terms of service, incident response plans, information security policies and other data protection policies.
• Experience drafting and negotiating professional services agreements, vendor and service provider agreements, data processing agreements, cross-border transfer agreements, and commercial agreements involving data sharing.

What We Offer

•Competitive Compensation: $200,000 - $300,000
