    Description
    Title: Environmental Public Health Surveyor

    Duration: 12 months .(July 2024 at the latest - June 30th 2025)

    Shift Timings: Shift 1; 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM

    Position: Remote

    Job Description:
    • This position will be traveling throughout Missouri conducting site visits to all 116 Local Public Health Agencies (LPHA).
    • The purpose of the site visit the is to conduct a Environmental Public Health Survey that will encompass 2 elements.
    • The first is a capacity assessment and the second is a program operations standards evaluation.
    • The evaluation will be review of the LPHA operations compared to the state standard.
    • The information gathered during these visits will be collected using the Survey 123 electronic platform.
    • Position will be supplied a DHSS iPad and iPhone.


    Items of importance for position:
    • Individual will be required to complete all 116 site visits by June 30th 2025.
    • Individual will be responsible for ALL travel expenses, no reimbursement, please calculate into hourly rate.
    • Individual will be working face to face with LPHA Administration/Environmental Staff and must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Individual will operate independently and on their own schedule, so must have strong time management and organization skills.
    • Site visits must occur between the LPHAs normal business hours.
    • Will be required to submit monthly status updates.
    • Will be required to report to Jefferson City on a bi-monthly basis and as requested.


    Knowledge and Education Requirement:
    • Bachelor s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or 5 years of relevant experience.
    • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and terminology of environmental public health.
    • Ability to comprehend and interpret environmental public health regulations, requirements, and policies.


    Additional Requirements:
    • Ability to travel throughout Missouri.
    • Be responsible for ALL TRAVEL COSTS.
    • Ability to report to DHSS Home office in Jefferson City bi-monthly and as requested.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to use electronic system for -collecting information and data.
