Data Scientist (On-site from Day One)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Programming Languages: 4 + years of experience in languages such as such as Python, Scala, R, C#, Semantic Kernal, and machine learning techniques.
* Machine Learning: 2 + years of experience in machine learning algorithms, supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, neural networks, natural language processing, feature selection, AI algorithms, and model evaluation.
* Azure Cloud Services Expertise: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services, especially those related to AI and machine learning such as Azure Machine Learning Service, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure Bot Service.
* OpenAI Tools and Libraries: Experience with OpenAI's GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) models and other relevant tools and libraries.
* Big Data Technologies: Experience with big data platforms and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and distributed computing.
* Data Analysis and Preprocessing: Ability to preprocess and analyze large datasets, and understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
* Data Ethics: Knowledge of ethical considerations in data science, including privacy, bias, fairness, and regulatory compliance.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, high-velocity, environment; ability to stay focused on responsibilities, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities under pressure.
* Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and tools like Azure DevOps.
* Ability to understand customer requirements and translate these into solution specifications and system designs.
* Ability to drive effective meetings: workshops, design, and problem-solving sessions.
* Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language; demonstrated aptitude for working with, supporting, and communicating with users and customers.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a desire to succeed.

Primary Responsibilities

Work with stakeholders and development team to determine project scope and vision, gather and prioritize collected requirements.
* Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on emerging technologies in machine learning, data science, data analytics, and application development. Analyze trends, innovations, and advancements in these fields to understand their potential impacts on the business.
* Technology Evaluation: Evaluate new technologies and tools to determine their efficacy and potential integration into existing systems.
* Model Development and Training: Developing and training machine learning and AI models using Azure's AI capabilities. This involves selecting appropriate algorithms, designing neural networks, and using tools like Azure Machine Learning.
* Data Processing and Analysis: Preprocessing and analyzing large datasets to train and validate models. This includes data cleaning, normalization, feature extraction, and handling unstructured data.
* Integration with Azure Services: Integrating AI models with other Azure services like Azure Functions, and Azure Web Apps Service for scalable deployments.
* Monitoring and Optimizing Models: Continuously monitoring the performance of AI models and optimizing them for efficiency, accuracy, and speed.
* Staying Updated with Azure and OpenAI Developments: Keeping up-to-date with the latest updates and features in Azure and OpenAI, and exploring how these can be leveraged for improved AI solutions.
* Compliance and Security: Ensuring that the AI solutions comply with relevant laws and regulations, particularly around data privacy and security.
* Machine Learning: Apply various machine learning techniques, such as regression, classification, clustering, and deep learning, depending on the problem at hand.
* Maintain procedures manuals and system documentation.
* Research software solutions to support recommendations, analyzing current and future technology trends.

Education

Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. (Required)
