    Position Summary:
    The Buyer is responsible for conducting purchasing activities including negotiating terms, pricing, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers. This role ensures alignment with management objectives and compliance with government laws and regulations governing procurement activities.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    Review MRP (SAP)

    Orders:
    Review and action MRP (SAP) order messages, maintaining schedules, visibility, and resolving issues until shipment. Generate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP (SAP) messages. Negotiate price and delivery terms consistent with schedule needs.

    (50%)

    Process Changes and Reschedules:
    Process changes, reschedules, and outside processing required to meet production schedule goals.

    (25%)

    Ensure Customer Satisfaction:
    Achieve on-time deliveries of quality products to ensure customer satisfaction. Follow through on special requests and expedite orders. Identify potential late deliveries and plan recovery. Prioritize material handling from receipt to shipment based on schedule requirements and department workload.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    This position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct or indirect reports.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education Level:
    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

    Field of Study/Area of Experience: 5+ years of experience in the production control field, including material/inventory management in a defense or aerospace environment.


    Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
    Excellent planning, organizational, and motivational skills.
    Proficiency in MRP (SAP) system.
    General knowledge of machine shop practices and processing standards.
    Knowledge of military spares standards (helpful).
    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Computerized MRP system.
    Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and verbal) with a positive attitude.
    Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks on a timely basis.
    Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the company.
