    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the concepting and structural design of floor care products, ensuring the functionality and reliability of new floor care product designs.
    • Conceive, lead, and develop innovative new floor care concepts.
    • Develop appropriate testing protocols for new products and designs incorporating appropriate regulatory and agency considerations.
    • Drive early to mid-stage concept validation for floor care products and features, collaborating with Suzhou factory to verify manufacturability.
    • Participate in the early consumer insight evaluation of innovative product concepts and prototypes.
    • Assure final product implementation meets US needs and assist manufacturing to resolve any issues.
    • Guide design intent through full development cycle to assure product meets US needs.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering, materials science, or other related engineering fields.
    • At least 5-10 years of experience in the design and development of consumer products.
    • More than 3 years of experience in product structural design.
    • Be capable of independently undertaking development projects.
    • Experience in developing IoT-related products is preferred.
    • Proficiency in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensor, and other controls prototyping is an advantage.
    • Familiar with user-centered design and development principles, and knowledgeable about various prototype manufacturing methods and concept validation techniques.
    • Proficient in using CAD design software (Creo preferred).
    • Good communication, coordination, and project management skills.
    • Thorough understanding of product and component reliability needs and development of testing plans.
    • Knowledge of floor care test standards as well as agency and regulatory requirements.
    • Strong problem-solving and failure analysis skills.
    • Goal-oriented and self-motivated, creative, and resourceful.

    Travel to China will be required
