- Responsible for the concepting and structural design of floor care products, ensuring the functionality and reliability of new floor care product designs.
- Conceive, lead, and develop innovative new floor care concepts.
- Develop appropriate testing protocols for new products and designs incorporating appropriate regulatory and agency considerations.
- Drive early to mid-stage concept validation for floor care products and features, collaborating with Suzhou factory to verify manufacturability.
- Participate in the early consumer insight evaluation of innovative product concepts and prototypes.
- Assure final product implementation meets US needs and assist manufacturing to resolve any issues.
- Guide design intent through full development cycle to assure product meets US needs.
- Bachelor's degree or above in mechanical engineering, materials science, or other related engineering fields.
- At least 5-10 years of experience in the design and development of consumer products.
- More than 3 years of experience in product structural design.
- Be capable of independently undertaking development projects.
- Experience in developing IoT-related products is preferred.
- Proficiency in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, sensor, and other controls prototyping is an advantage.
- Familiar with user-centered design and development principles, and knowledgeable about various prototype manufacturing methods and concept validation techniques.
- Proficient in using CAD design software (Creo preferred).
- Good communication, coordination, and project management skills.
- Thorough understanding of product and component reliability needs and development of testing plans.
- Knowledge of floor care test standards as well as agency and regulatory requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and failure analysis skills.
- Goal-oriented and self-motivated, creative, and resourceful.
