- Performs complex administrative duties independently on a wide variety of matters of a sensitive and confidential nature.
- Prepares all correspondence requiring signatures and facilitates the entire end-to-end process. Plans, organizes, and prioritizes workflow to ensure efficient operations.
- Manages the calendar of the Sr. VP/CFO/Treasurer and schedules all internal and external meetings, events, and spaces.
- Coordinates the purchasing and payment of goods and services for all the Financial Affairs Departments, to include setting up Purchase Orders and Shopping Carts and all travel arrangements (i.e. processing of travel reports and reimbursements) for executive staff.
- Assists, designs and/or manages special projects and empirical analysis as assigned in support of recurring or ad-hoc duties.
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in business administration or finance) or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant administrative work experience preferably in a university or customer service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex administrative duties with discretion, including written and verbal communications on highly sensitive and confidential financial and human resource matters.
- In-depth knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite including macros, pivot tables, and spreadsheet modeling.
- Willingness to learn new processes, programs, and systems.
- Collaborative working style and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships across a variety of functional areas with colleagues of all levels.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multitask and work under pressure, self-motivation, high energy and engagement and a positive attitude.
- Certified notary public
- Experience with budget management, financial analysis, financial modeling and basic accounting principles
- Experience in an academic or research environment.
- Proficiency with website management (WordPress)
- Experience with analyzing detailed financial records, legacy accounting systems, and SAP.

The Executive Assistant for Boston University's Financial Affairs department provides executive-level administrative support to the Sr. Vice President/CFO and assist with office management for the respective business units.Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the Executive Assistant ensures that all administrative activities of the Offices of Financial Affairs are conducted seamlessly through diligence, effective communications, and consistent follow-through.
