    Regional Sales Manager

    Primary Function

    The primary role of the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is to provide leadership for the assigned region's direct field sales representatives and to attain company sales and profit objectives.

    The RSM will develop and maintain relationships with key customers and end-users at all levels of the wholesales/trade channel along with engaging in new business development activities.


    Responsibilities

    • Manage all aspects of sales and marketing and participate in strategic business planning as needed for the A. O. Smith WPC Wholesale brands with the assigned region. (PA, Southern NJ,VA, DE)
    • Manage multiple brands in the wholesales plumbing distribution channel. Develop and maintain direct relationships with all levels of the distribution channel as well as specifiers, builders and key end-users.
    • Supervise the activities of overlapping independent manufacturer's representative organizations and support their sales efforts.
    • Collect and analyze market data to develop plans, examine trends, prepare reports and recommend strategies to upper management.
    • Monitor the performance of the sales teams or branches within the region and re-allocate resources to improve overall results.
    • Contribute to the development of sales, marketing, customer retention, advertising, pricing, and distribution strategies for the region.
    • Oversee sales support activities such as sales administration, customer service, distribution, invoicing, and credit and collections to ensure that customer orders are processed, dispatched, invoiced, and paid accurately and on time.
    • Coach sales representatives on the technical aspects of the organization's products and services; on marketing campaigns and sales promotions; and on sales techniques, procedures, and standards that will help them achieve their sales targets.
    • Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10+ years of related work experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Marketing
    • MBA a plus
    • A solid understand of plumbing and hydronic heating systems.
    • Articulate and professional communications skills, including the ability to create and present executive level presentations.
    • Ability to manage and motive a team of independent representatives
    • Strategic planning skills and the ability to create and manage budgets and forecast sale volume.
    • Ability to deal with very large customer organizations.
    • Strong skills in the business development, account management and sales process.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Products is required.
    • Travel as needed, approximately 60 -75% of the time.
