    As part of the Quality and Mission Success organization for the rotary wing program based in Lexington, KY, responsibilities will be program and aircraft quality assurance as an AH-6 Little Bird Lead Inspector.

    Must have a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement of parts.

    Requires broad knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems, sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, electrical theory, and a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.

    This job requires extensive knowledge of technical publications. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Candidate will be required to provide mentorship, lead, guide, and organize an inspector team on their assigned aircraft MDS.

    The Level III Inspector is considered a subject matter expert (SME) regarding aviation quality and will be providing daily leadership contributions to the Level I and II inspectors.

    Required to lead an inspector team on their assigned airframe. Works under limited supervision with task direction.

    Basic Qualifications:


    Quality Control Inspector having over 5 years recent on/off aircraft maintenance and Quality Control experience including structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.

    Able to identify and understand non-conformities, as they relate to safety-of-flight inspections, procedural breakdowns, and/or program (process) audits. Experienced with Foreign Object Debris (FOD) industry standards; equipment calibration procedures; general security procedures. Must be able to read/interpret engineering drawings/instructions; system schematics/blueprints; and technical policy/maintenance instructions. Must have experience in making and clearing entries in aircraft logs and records. Must have experience with aircraft and component historical records. Possess a basic understanding of aircraft weight and balance principals. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.

    Desired Skills:
    Recent leadership experience within aviation maintenance or aviation quality assurance. Have the appropriate certification to allow the issuance of weight & balance authority on their assigned MDS. Familiarity with the Defense Contract Management Agency operations and the 8210.1C. Previous experience and implementation of AP-5078.

    Security Clearance Statement:
    This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules:
    Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.

    These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
