Certified Welding Inspector - Idaho Falls, United States - Image Associates Inc.
Description
Manufacturing company that makes fabricated steel assemblies needs Certified Welding Inspectors, also called CWI. This is an onsite, no-travel position. This is a night shift position. Hours are 4 pm to 2 am, four-day week.
· You will be responsible for onsite testing and inspection of manufactured products designed to support heavy loads.
· The welding process is a GMAW Spray Transfer process.
· Writing Welder Qualification Records, PQR's & WPS.s.
· Maintain daily inspection records.
· Performing welder certification testing per the requirements of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code, including some minor destructive testing.
· Monitor welder qualification records.
· Maintain company control processes, procedures and specifications.
· Understand the requirements of the AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
· Maintain company's established Quality Assurance Manual.
· Read and interpret fabrication drawings.
· Daily verification of welding equipment and documentation.
· All necessary testing and personal protection equipment will be provided by the company
REQUIREMENTS
· Certified Welding Inspector with at least three years' experience. This is a position in manufacturing, but will consider people with construction, civil engineering, defense, marine, or aerospace experience. Must be certified by the American Welding Society and have a current, valid certification number.
· Must be able to identify components having cracks, corrosion, faulty welds, or other defects that would affect structural integrity.
· Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings or blueprints. Proficiency with MS Office software and the ability to produce reports in desired formats is a must.
