    SUMMARY

    Responsible for implementing production schedules and ensuring that actual production meets scheduled requirements. Controls various load factors to ensure the maximum usage of available capacity and resources. Coordinates production operations across departmental and functional lines with the requirements specified for the finished products and the needs for material and labor.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Uses the MRP system to release customer orders and open work orders to schedule as related to the appropriate product line including procurement and manufacturing schedules.
    • Prepares production analysis data, job and machine load forecasts, labor usage forecasts, and spares forecast based on orders available to ship.
    • Follows up on actual versus scheduled production performance and on time delivery performance and prepares completion reports.
    • Takes the necessary actions to eliminate delays and ensures adherence to production and shipping schedules.
    • Inputs the transactions on shop paper, and the respective variances of such.
    • Responsible for inventory levels, accuracy, past due work orders and operations in applicable area.
    • Works with the purchasing department, as well as others, to ensure the adequate flow of materials.
    • Interacts with other departments in the development of adequate records for production planning and control purposes.
    • Works with the product team to ensure that all targets for inventory turns and amounts are achieved.
    • Provides the necessary training and support to the product team to help them meet all goals and objectives established to meet the company's business strategy.
    • Contributes to Relentless Continuous Improvement (RCI) in identifying new, different, or better ways of improving the current processes being utilized to accomplish the scheduling function.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    This position requires the following computer skills: Microsoft suite of products, especially Word, Excel. Use and experience using Syteline, or similar MRP system is also required.
