    Job Title: Behavior Support Specialist

    Company: DePelchin Children's Center

    Type: PRN (On Call, as needed)

    Shifts:

    • A Shift, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm
    • B Shift, 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm
    • C Shift, 10:30 pm - 6:30 am (Flexible 8-hour shifts, Mon-Sun)
    • Weekends, 6:30 am - 10:30 pm (Flexible 8-hour shifts, Sat-Sun)

    Reporting: Shift Supervisor

    Location: Richmond, TX

    Benefits: Non-benefit eligible, Matching Retirement

    Description:

    The Behavior Support Specialist PRN at DePelchin Children's Center is called upon to cover any gaps or special situations. Responsibilities include working at least four shifts per month, being available for agency holidays, and maintaining regular communication with the supervisor. This role focuses on ensuring the safety and well-being of children and youth, coordinating interventions to support their growth and stability in the program.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum age of 18
    • First Aid and CPR Certification (Can be obtained upon hire)
    • Participation in behavior management and physical restraint training post-employment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience with children and/or adolescents
    • Bachelor's degree in a human or social service-related field

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of safety practices for children and adolescents
    • Adaptability and problem-solving skills
    • Experience with diverse populations
    • Flexible work hours as per client needs

    Work Conditions:

    • Environment: Residential facility
    • Schedule Variations:
      • A Shift, 6:30 am - 2:30 pm
      • B Shift, 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm
      • C Shift, 10:30 pm - 6:30 am (Flexible 8-hour shifts, Mon-Sun)
      • Weekends: 6:30 am - 10:30 pm (Flexible 8-hour shifts, Sat-Sun)
    • Travel: Occasional, agency vehicle use (Valid Texas Driver License needed)
    • Possible physical restraint of clients
    • Potential exposure to bodily fluids
