    Description
    Duties


    • You will plan, coordinate, and oversee the operations of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair, equipment safety, and equipment reliability.
    • You will manage the maintenance schedule and sequence preventative and emergent maintenance to support waterfront execution priorities.
    • You will validate equipment records using electronic Facilities and Equipment Maintenance (eFEM) and update all data as required.
    • You will serve as an advisor on all equipment issues and assist the management team with equipment budgets and equipment procurements.
    • You will coordinate industrial shops, support codes, and other shipyard departments in resolution of problems hindering the effectiveness and efficiency of the total maintenance effort and ensure the maximum level of equipment reliability.
    • You will manage the relocation, installation, and disposal of all equipment.
    • You will administer the overall lifecycle management plan for all shop-owned equipment

    Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: FOR GS-12 (one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11): Experience operating, repairing, overhauling, maintaining, or inspecting industrial plant equipment
    Experience with the characteristics, properties, and uses of the equipment
    Experience administering the overall lifecycle management plan for all shop-owned equipment
    Experience assisting the management team with equipment budgets and procurements based on maintenance plans and new service requirements
    Experience using job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet for material identification, drawing specifications, and the preparation of technical work instructions
    FOR GS-11 (one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09): Experience operating, repairing, overhauling, maintaining, or inspecting industrial plant equipment
    Experience assisting with troubleshooting and managing industrial plant equipment issues
    Experience assisting the management team with equipment budgets and procurements based on maintenance plans and new service requirements
    Experience using job-relevant information systems and/or software applications, such as word processing, spreadsheets, automated research tools, database applications, and the Internet for material identification, drawing specifications, and the preparation of technical work instructions
